%X The paper shows the research results for the developed project in the scope of the ANEEL-CELESC Research and Development program. The main goal was to develop and apply a methodology for integration of remote sensing data to the CELESC Geographic Information System - GIS, considering the technological solutions adjusted to the functional devices of the existing system and the necessities of the company, as its commercial and strategical activities. The informative and functional potential of CBERS and Landsat 7 (ETM+) images were analyzed. As final result, the parameters for processing and storage of the respective data had been defined, as part of the system of cartographic visualization of the power distribution net in rural areas.
