| Abstract | This study aims at evaluating distinct digital classification methods to detect selectively logged areas in Pará State. The results of the classification were contrasted with those obtained from visual analysis of a TM-Landsat scene acquired in 1998. The results indicated that the supervised classification procedure produced a more accurate classification when contrasted with unsupervised classification or that obtained from the use of the soil image derived from the application of a mixture model. |
