| Abstract | Present article has as an objective to present use of geoprocessing for decision making in use of natural resources babaçu (speciosa Orbynia), being this raw material for production of oil, and income generation in isolated communities guaranteeing its self-sufficiency. Geoprocessing is a knowledge tool that allows realizing complex analyses, integrating data from several sources and creating databases. Study area was the resex of the Ouro Preto River State of Rondonia, the applied methodology consisted in a socioeconomic survey in lease, indicating the viability of this resource, by floral inventory, method of fixed parcels I contending 1 each one, GPS receiver use (Global Positioning Systems), for tax data generation about the natural resources, existing roads and localities, also was added data space as cartographic images of CBERS 2 satellite and data in the 1:250.000 scale, getting consistent information for decision making concerned with availability (natural resources), viability (distance) and infrastructure of draining. | |||
