AbstractThe present work had as objective to analyze the current structure social and space in the basin of Ribeirão dos Pires, located to east of the city of Limeira (SP). For accomplishment of the research we search to use a critical vision in the use of geotechnologies, through to use of software ArcGIS, of aerial photographs, topographical maps and image of satellite CBERS. Thus, it was possible to perceive that it exists currently a predominance of the use for sugar cane, followed of the culture of citric fruits in the study area. An important discovery made with the work was the urban expansion in the portion the northwest of the study area, that has destined part of the area for the irregular implantation of land divisions and closed condominiums to take care of to the interests of the population richest of the city.
