| Abstract | CBERS is the acronym for Chinese-Brazilian Earth Resources Satellite. The second of its series was launched in october 21st, 2003, and CCD is its high resolution camera, with 20m spatial resolution. This paper analyzes the geometric quality of CCD/CBERS-2 images concerning the positioning error. A positional difference at the original scenes was always found during the control hand over of the satellite between Brazil and China. However, the post-processed imagery presented practically constant errors. The discussion generated by the analysis of this problem identified a difference in the procedure of up-loadings of ephemeris and, afterwards this difference was corrected. To improve the images geometric quality of CCD/CBERS-2 generated in the period, the application of the average displacement found in this experiment is indicated. | |||
