| Abstract | CBERS is the acronym for Chinese-Brazilian Earth Resources Satellite. The second of its series was launched in October 21st, 2003, and CCD is its High Resolution Camera, with 20m spatial resolution. CCD band 4 has presented some saturation effects during the summer season, mainly for agricultural and urban targets. In this paper, the saturation effect in band 4 of the CCD/CBERS-2 sensor was analyzed. It was shown that the saturation is dependent of the latitude and the season. A methodology based on linear regression approach using the other bands was proposed to estimate the pixel values whose information was lost by the saturation phenomenon. The results show that some marginal improvements can be achieved. However, as the band 4 gain controls affect the gain of the other bands for CBERS-2, this solution could not be implemented. | |||
