| Abstract | The control of illegal deforestation requires the use of images with high temporal resolution to allow efficient law enforcement action. Images with moderate spatial resolution such as MODIS 250m. resolution data and CBERS-2/WFI data are the most adequate for such purpose given their temporal and spatial resolution. In the present work the use of images CBERS-2/WFIdata for deforestation assessment is evaluated., The results obtained with CBERS-2/WFI data are compared with deforestation assessment derived from CBERS-2/CCD data . The comparison shows that CBERS-2-WFI data is adequate for the purposes of producing fast assessment of deforestation process for law enforcements purposes. | |||
