| Abstract | The study of the electromagnetic interaction with the vegetation becomes possible to obtain information on the distribution of the different types of vegetation, condition of stress, among others. This work has for objective to evaluate the differences among reflectance of leaves of four different species - Prunus sp., Butia sp., Cedrela fissilis and Platanus x accerifolia - in the VNIR band of the ASTER sensor (b1= 0.52-0.60 µm; b2=0.63-0.69 µm; b3=0.76-0.86 µm), and to infer which band would be most adequate for to distinguish such species. The graphical evaluation of the reflectance in function of each band is important for a first interpretation of what band the visual contrasts are bigger, but is the statistic analysis that values the differences. Such analysis was made in software R in the followings steps: test of variance, test of normality, analysis of variance and Tukey-HSD test. The Tukey-HSD test for the b1 and b2 points that all the species are significantly different between itself and the biggest difference of reflectance was between the Butia sp. and Prunus sp. and the lesser difference was between P. x accerifolia and C. fissilis. In the b3 the difference between Butia sp. and C. fissilis was not significant. Thus, the band 1 of the ASTER sensor was the one that better adjusted itself to differentiate spectrally the four species. In band 2 there is difference among the four species, however, they are less significant, and the band 3 would not be adequate to differentiate the four species. |
