AbstractThe aim of this paper was investigate the carbon sink and their relationship with the atmospheric carbon dioxide and the water contents in vegetation in Nhecolândia region of Brazilians Pantanal. For this we used a Rahman et al. (2000) CO2 flux model, based in a NDVI and sPRI vegetation indexes and correlated with the CO2 in the atmosphere by means the ICO2 model (BAPTISTA, 2003), and the water contents by mean the NDWI model (GAO, 1996). Result is a very good for the terrestrial vegetation, but is not so good with the algae biomass. We propose the new studies that can be motivate to find a solution to monitoring carbon sink in the aquatic ecosystems.
