AbstractCadastral spatial databases maintenance is a key issue in construction and updating cadastral information systems. The objective of this work is to test feasibility of high resolution image to cadastral purposes. In this study an orthorectified Quickbird image is used to extract cadastral information. The pilot area is an informal occupation in mangroves zone located in Paranaguá, South Brazil. The spatial accuracy of the cadastral features is compare of land survey by mean of GPS-RTK. The datasets statistic analysis is based in Filliben method. The positional accuracy of land parcel using GPS-RTK reveals better results in other hand the use of Quickbird imagery could reach good results in updating cadastral information considering costs, purpose and local reality.
