| Abstract | Abstract. A great and important petrol enterprising will be installed in Itaboraí municipality, in the eastern of Baia de Guanabara Basin in Rio de Janeiro. This work presents subsidies for environmental impacts studies related to legislation elements, territorial planning, municipal managing plans and the location of natural protected areas around Petrobras Complex of Rio de Janeiro state - COMPERJ. Using ARC GIS mapping techniques the evaluation of some possible restrictions to the implantation of COMPERJ was done, taking into account its compatibility with federal, state and municipal governmental politics of plans, programs or actions in execution. It included synthesis maps, municipal zoning matrices and natural protected area locations. Due to the Petrol Complex characteristics and its relation with the place where it will be installed, special emphasis is given to the necessity of promoting a regional planning. The following municipalities were considered under the influence of COMPERJ the region; Itaboraí, Rio Bonito, Tanguá, Magé, Guapimirim, Cachoeiras de Macacu, Niterói, São Gonçalo, Silva Jardim, Nova Friburgo, Saquarema, Teresópolis, Maricá and Casimiro de Abreu and a small part of Rio de Janeiro city. Some maps showed the lack of compatibility between municipal zoning and the real use of some areas and also the proximity of a reasonable number of protected areas and the Complex which can cause environmental impacts, especially in Atlantic Forest. | |||
