AbstractThe study aims to identify what type of kriging model for to generate a DEM (Digital Elevation Model) from the data SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission) Project that best represents the landforms of Hidrographic Basin of Itapemirim River. Was selected 18 samples of 30 rows by 30 columns from the SRTM data to analyze trends and acquisition of outliers data (regression). The kriging was realized after conversion to original SRTM data to cut to the area of interest in files points and the spatial resolution of the Kriging model remaked to approximately 30m (~0.000277°). After that, was done with outliers data geostatistical analisys for evaluation, through semivariograms and interpolation tests, for identify most representative kriging model to HBIR. The most representtive kriging model was done through to comparison os shading images by krige model Founded 18 semivariograms, only one (sample VA_AR_20) presented the exponential model like a theoric adjust model to experimental semivariogram. Others experimental semivariograms presented the Espheric model like as theoric adjust model. The Krige Mmodel has an upgrade of quality in the extraction of information for interpreting visual shaded images, especially in large scale, showing the improvement in the quality of the model which may make it more technically viable to extract morphometric landforms variables.
