AbstractA integration of Doppler radar and raingauge net using a statistical objective analysis scheme (SOAS) was used to improve precipitation estimates in the Metropolitan area of Curitiba. Hourly rainfall estimations and measurements were obtained from the SIMEPAR's Doppler weather radar and a network of automatic hydrological and meteorological stations, respectively. These two data sets were integrated by the SOAS. The results from a case study indicate the usefulness of the SOAS.
