| Abstract | Abstract. The objective of this work is to produce a Environmental Diagnostic Map of the Maranhão River basin, in its high course, situated between 47o28´27" e 47o42'10"W e 15o16'21" e 15o29'45"S. Based on geoprocessing techniques, the basic data used in diagnostic procedures was topography, water resources map, land use forms obtained from Landsat image interpretation and brazilian forest protection law. Prospective analysis was done to preview future deforestation and urbanization processes in the region. The study was yet handling some data to conclude analysis when this communication was written. |
