| Resumo | Abstract The Paraíba Valley counts with an urbanization process of more than three centuries and it has being verified, through the time, serious problems related to the use and occupation of its lands. Along the history, most of the cities was located close to the rivers in the search for natural resources and to facilitate flow off the products. In this sense, the uncontrolled urban growth affect the hidrical resources, causing problems such as, pollution of the rivers for solid dejects and sanitary sewers, erosion, interference in the cycle of the waters for great projects and uncontrolled exploration of the subterranean hidrical resources. In this sense, this work, propose to do a multitemporal analysis, of the use and occupation of the lands, with the geotechnologies support, to verify the transformations in the landscape and associating them to the pertinent economic, political and social process, along the time, in the complex net of tributaries of Paraíba River, in fact Piracangaguá River, a basin hidrographyc, located in the municipal district of Taubaté - SP. |
