AbstractMaking products for AVHRR-NOAA imagery is time-consuming and an automated technique for image processing is required due to its high temporal resolution (ten images per day). This paper aims to describe the development of a system for full-automated AVHRR-NOAA image processing, including radiometric calibration, precise geometric correction and making products. The results have shown that when using input images with no noises and not too cloud, the system was effective, making products geometrically precise, with errors not greater than a pixel. The developed system showed to be an important tool for NOAA image users, especially those who need to use large temporal series.
