| Abstract | As part of a large limnological project, an autonomous data collection system has been installed at some natural and man-made water reservoirs in Brazil. This is a moored buoy where a special electronics and a suiteof meteorological and water quality sensors is used to transmit in near real time the hourly collected data using the Brazilian satellites CBERS-2 and SCD 1/2. Some of the sensors are in duplicate so that we have means of assessing the consistency of the series. This paper discusses the application of the "Phase Space" and the "Gradient Pattern Analysis" methodologies to examine the air and water temperature time series collected by this system. The two analysis methods indicate great potential of tracking the temporal evolution of the variables as well as identifying time change anomalies related to sensor radiometric resolution. | |||
