Artificial Intelligence (AI) use statement

Use of AI tools in SBSR articles

The use of AI-based tools in the preparation of SBSR articles is permitted, provided that the ethical principles governing scientific production are respected. Their use should be guided by transparency, accuracy of information, proper acknowledgement of the tools used, and responsible authorship.

Use of AI in text generation

The use of AI tools for the automatic generation of textual content (including, but not limited to, introduction, literature review, discussion, or conclusion sections) is strictly prohibited.

The use of AI to artificially extend the text or generate automatic continuations is also not permitted.

In cases where Plagiarism is identified, full responsability rests with the author of the paper, and not with the company that provides or develops the AI tools.

Generation of figures and tables by AI

The use of AI tools for the creation of graphics, figures, and tables is permitted, provided that the tool used is explicity cited as the source and propertly referenced.

Every figure or table generated by AI must include the name of the company as the source, along with and the year of creation. The author remains fully responsible for verifying the accuracy and integrity of any figures or tables generated with AI tools.

Application of AI in research methodology

In cases where AI tools are employed as part of the research methodology (e.g., data analysis, model generation, simulations, or orther forms of result production), it is mandatory that:

- The tool used is explicity identified;

- The application of the tool is described in detail in the methodology section;

- The procedures adopted are reproducible and properly documented;

- The limitations of the tool are acknowledged and discussed when relevant.

Use of AI in linguistic and orthographic review

The use of AI tools is permitted for gramatical, spelling, and lexical review, as well as for the linguistic adjustment of texts written in a foreign language, with the aim of improving the clarity and quality of academic writing.

In this context, explicit mention of the tool is not mandatory, provided that its use is limited to language adjustment and does not interfere with the conceptual content of the research.

The author of the paper is responsible for reviewing the text and must therefore ensure the accuracy and fidelity of the information presented.
